Can I book/pay by credit card the same day?
You must book 24 hours in advance using the "BOOK NOW" button, call for same day availability.
How often does this ride go out?
Every 40 minutes as scheduled.
How far in advance should I book?
The months of June, July and August can be extremely busy. We recommend securing your tour as soon as you know which date you want. We are limited to 6 passengers and availability will be tight during these months so please keep this in mind when booking.
How safe is the boat?
The Tiki Taxi is very safe with guard railings, life jackets and all federally required safety gear aboard. As it pertains to Covid - Please follow CT Covid guidelines, if you feel sick, stay home. We sanitize all high touch surfaces between tours.
I’m not a strong swimmer. Will I still be able to participate?
I’m physically challenged. Will I still be able to participate?
Yes, but know that we board from a floating dock. You must be able to navigate up to a 45º incline for the ramp to our dock and be able to step up or down to board. If you use a wheelchair or walker, we do not recommend this activity for your safety.
What should I bring?
Sunscreen, hats and sunglasses are recommended. Beach attire with water shoes, sandals or flip flops are appropriate. If its cool a light jacket, wind breaker, sweat shirt or rain jacket is a good idea.
Can we bring snacks and other drinks?
Yes, we provide a large cooler with ice and cups. You may bring snacks if you would like to. Alcoholic and other beverages are allowed (BYOB) during the tour. Your Captain may limit the amount of alcohol brought aboard per person. NO Handles please.
What should I not bring?
We cannot accomodate pets of any kind. You are not permitted to board with any of the following; illegal drugs, fireworks, firearms or weapons. Smoking of any substance is prohibited. Your Captain will terminate the charter and alert marine police if there is suspicion of any illegal activity.
What happens in the event of bad weather?
Your safety is our primary concern, we will not go out in storms or dangerous conditions. In the event of bad weather, we will attempt reschedule you to a different day. If we are not able to reschedule during the same calendar year, all monies paid will be refunded (less booking fees).
How many people can go on the tour at any one time?
We continue to strive to provide a safe and socially distant activity at Harbor Point, therefore our plans for a larger party boat were put on hold and we opted for a open air 6 passenger vessel so you and your group can feel safe without strangers aboard.
Is there a restroom aboard?
No. We strongly reccomend you use a shore facillty in advance.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations with a 72 hour advance notice will result in no charge. Canceling your reservation after the 72 hour window is non-refundable unless Capt. John has to cancel the reservation. Unfortunately, this includes arriving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, arriving late, forgetting your ID, no shows, personal emergencies or personal mishaps. If Capt. John has to cancel the reservation due to inclement weather or any other reason, you may reschedule or receive a refund. Weather cancellations are determined only by Capt. John. Weather must be inclement at our location at your specific scheduled time. No exceptions. Thank you for understanding our policy.
I have a medical condition, should I be concerned?
If you have any medical conditions that you are concerned with you should consult your Physician for his or her professional advice. Captain John's Tiki Tours will not be responsible for any injury or illness caused by your participation or voyage our vessels.
How old should I be to participate?
While we do not restrict by age, we DO NOT have accomodations for infants or toddlers. We reccomend children accompanied by a parent or legal guardian be 50lbs and up.
